Theme: The Appropriation of the Image
Public Discussion at The Joinery Thur. 15th Sept. 7pm.
As part of Three Farmers on Their Way to a Dance (Colin Crotty, Vanya Lambrecht-Ward and Justin Larkin, curated by Miranda Driscoll), there will be a public discussion around the topic of the appropriation of the image. The three invited speakers come from a variety of disciplines: writer Donald Mahony, theatre practitioner Cathy O’Carroll and academic Francis Halsall. The discussion will be chaired by Adrian Duncan.
Three Farmers on Their Way to a Dance is part of the Selected Stories Programme curated by The Joinery and supported by the Arts Council.
The Selected Stories Programme is a five-part project curated by The Joinery from this September to January 2012. The project will be made up of five individual shows and will include talks and screenings, bringing together a range of artists, curators and writers whose work engages with, and challenges perceptions of ‘the real’. The project will be supported by a rolling blog and will culminate in a publication of essays, interviews and writings by Rebecca O’Dwyer.
