Event: Art/Theory/Politics Seminars

For the next three Fridays (Dec 2nd, 9th and 16th) the MA Art In The Contemporary World (ACW) will be running seminars at the Hugh Lane Gallery which are devoted to considering the relationship between art, theory and politics. These classes are a continuation of our Key Theoretical Paradigms course, but will be opened up to members of the public who have research interests in this area. The seminars will take place from 11:30AM to 1PM, are free or charge, although numbers may be limited.

These sessions will begin from issues raised in the following readings.

1. The Politics of Deconstruction

2. Subjectivity, solidarity, violence:

We will also touch on writing by Chantal Mouffe, Jacques Ranciere and others.
